Welcome Guide
I am so excited to meet you!
It is honestly such an honor that you chose me to be your photographer. Whether you are getting updated family pictures, are expecting a little one or want to document a little babe's arrival; I am so excited to to apart of this chapter of your life. Below is a guide for you to know what to expect before, during and after our time together. Know that you can always reach out with any further questions you may have!

What to Expect
Before the Session
For all sessions, you'll find a questionnaire linked to your booking portal. I deeply value your time and aim to bring your vision to life, so the more details you provide, the better I can tailor the experience to your preferences. Getting to know you helps ensure you feel at ease and confident. Once you’ve completed the questionnaire, I’ll follow up with an email offering location suggestions and style guidance.
Day of Session
On the day of your session, I'll text you with details about where I'll be parking and meeting you if we are shooting outside of your home. We’ll likely visit several locations within or near your chosen spot. As we walk to the first spot, I'll give you an overview of how the session will unfold. My goal is for you to leave feeling confident that I’ve captured everything you envisioned for our time together.
After the Session
You’ll receive an email with a link to your online gallery featuring sneak peeks within 72 hours of your session. Within 2 to 3 weeks, I’ll send you another email with the same gallery link, but this time with all the images from your session. From there, you can easily download and share any image you like!

Newborn Sessions
All newborn session will be 60 - 90 minutes long. The reason for that is to have extra time for feedings, diaper changes or soothing. I don't want our time together to feel rushed and I want to give you space to care for your baby and not stress about time restraints.
Another reason is to have ample time to move some things around if needed. Please don't feel like your house has to be spotless. This is a huge season of newness and I don't want to add another thing to your plate. We will move throughout your house where the light is best and if we need to move some things out of the way, we will.
I will be in touch with you all the way up to your due date and we will set a date for our session based on when baby comes!

Locations
In-Home Sessions
I’ll be honest: I have a soft spot for in-home sessions. There’s something truly special about capturing your family in the comfort of your own space—it brings a unique, intimate feel that outdoor locations just can't replicate. For newborn sessions, I typically schedule them in the morning when the light is best. I rely on natural light, so we’ll naturally gravitate toward rooms with the best lighting. However, if you have your heart set on a particular space—I'll have a flash on hand to ensure we get the perfect shot, no matter where we are.
Outdoor Sessions
Having recently moved to California, I’m continually discovering new locations. In your questionnaire, I ask about your vision for the session—whether it’s in the woods, by the water, in an open field, or somewhere else. Based on your preferences, I’ll suggest locations that align with your vision. However, if you already have a specific spot in mind, we can absolutely make that work too. The most important thing is finding a location that truly reflects your family’s style and personality.

Style Tips
Wear something you are comfortable in
Wear something that makes you feel like you and are the most comfortable in! The temptation to go out and buy all new outfits for everyone can be high, but know that you don't have to to accomplish great cohesive outfits.
Allow for movement
We will move from different spots and I will be giving you prompts that incorporate movement throughout the session. Wear something that will move with you, blow in the wind and you feel comfortable sitting on the ground in and wrangling your kiddos in.
Don't match your location
It is really important not to match your background. For example, if your session is in a green wooded area, you want to avoid wearing lots of green so you don't blend with your surroundings too much.
Complement each other
Coordinate without "matching." For example, mom can rock a patterned dress and the rest of the fam can wear colors that coordinate with her dress to make everyone look cohesive.
Colors
Aim for neutrals and earth tones. When you think neutrals, that doesn't necessarily mean beige, just softer tones. For example, instead of wearing an electric blue shirt, go with sky blue instead. Here are some of my favorite soft tones:

Textures, Layers & Patterns
Patterns help break up blocks of solids, but I always recommend one person stick to a pattern and the rest of the family match them. Layers such as jean jackets, cardigans, open button ups or jackets give your photo so much more dimension. Not everyone in the family needs layers, but having one person wear layers makes a huge difference! Textures such as denim, silk, linen and suede makes your images pop! When you combine all the tips for colors, textures, layers and patterns, your images will feel so much more cohesive.
