In-Home Newborn Session in Rocklin, California

I think 2026 is the year of newborn sessions for me. I’ve never photographed so many tiny babies, and honestly, I’m not complaining. Each session brings me back to those early days with my first son. The calm and quiet of our home, the endless Google searches, the late night Amazon orders, and the hours of contact naps that left a permanent imprint on our couch.

Now, as I’m expecting my third baby, that season of life feels even more special. The focus was simply on our baby boy. As much as I always say that going from zero to one is the hardest transition, there is truly nothing else like it. Those days will forever replay in my mind and hold a special place in my heart.

I found myself thinking about all of this during this session. Watching this family settle into their new rhythm and create such a beautiful, intentional space for their son was so special. They’re figuring it out one day at a time, just like we all do, and I find so much beauty in that.
