Some of you may know that my husband serves in the Air Force, which is why we made the move from Oklahoma to California. When we first relocated, I was really nervous about how it would affect my business. Being in the first year of entrepreneurship and stepping into a completely new area where I didn’t know anyone or have access to my usual photo spots, I knew I had to lean on my military network. If you’re familiar with military life or are a military spouse, you know how strong the sense of community is. When I introduced myself in a Facebook group, I was instantly embraced, and soon enough, I had a list of new clients excited to let me capture their special moments.
Many of the families I worked with lived on base or nearby, so I knew I’d need to scout some local spots for our sessions. I had always been on the lookout for hidden gems off-base, but when Leah reached out to me in November, she suggested a spot on base. It was this charming, tucked-away trail that led to a bridge and wound through other scenic paths. I’m beyond grateful to have this new location to offer families living on base who want a beautiful, convenient spot for their sessions without traveling far from home.
