A Homestead Family Session in Browns Valley, California

These are the kinds of sessions that truly light up my soul. When Krystle reached out, I was thrilled to capture her family at their homestead. We started with a more traditional family session in their backyard, with their beautiful pond as the backdrop and everyone dressed in their typical "photo taking" clothes. Afterward, they made a quick outfit change into their overalls and muck boots, and that's when the magic really began. Together, they spent time caring for their goats and chickens while I documented the candid moments that naturally unfolded. Krystle's main goal was to capture her family simply being themselves with the animals they love, and it was such a joy to watch those genuine interactions take place. Sessions like this are a great reminder that family photos don't have to look the same for everyone. I always encourage families to suggest locations, activities, or traditions that are meaningful to them. When your photos reflect the things you genuinely love doing together, they become even more special, and you'll feel that connection every time you look back on them for years to come.
